CHARITY: Happy Hearts Fund - Bring Happiness Back! Campaign 2012

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays during the past couple of weeks! You were all such a big help to HHF's efforts in 2011... thanks to you, we were able to raise more than 2.3 million dollars that will all be used to build new schools around the world. If you haven't done so already, please be sure to register to receive the HHF newsletter at www.happyheartsfund.org/newsetter_subscribe.php It's a great way to receive updates about the progress of the schools being built around the world.

Also, I would like to invite you to be a part of HHF's Bring Happiness Back! Campaign 2012 Team! The purpose of this team mirrors that of the HHF mission... to raise funds and awareness that benefit schools that we build in areas that have been impacted by natural disasters. Through introducing each of our communities to HHF's mission via smaller fundraising events, we can restore a sense of hope to children who have been forgotten since their schools were destroyed as a result of natural disasters. Schools and groups that participate in the program also have the option of accessing the disaster preparedness training and response lessons that have been assembled in HHF's new initiative - SchoolsConnect.

If you are interested in joining the team, I would like to ask each of you to consider "hosting" a Bring Happiness Back! event in 2012. Together, the HHF staff team and volunteers will work with you to determine the fundraising initiative that fits your vision and iron out the details to make it a reality. The sky is the limit - so dream big! As "host" of the event, we ask that you help to determine the date and location for the event and promote it in your circle of friends. In addition, events will also be promoted among the HHF volunteer team, social media connections, and in the HHF monthly newsletter. As host, you also have the option of choosing which of the HHF schools that you would like to see benefit from the event. HHF is actively involved in building schools in Japan, Haiti, Peru, Mexico, Chile, Thailand, and Indonesia. Schools and groups that participate in HHF's SchoolsConnect program also have the option to directing connect the students that they lead with the students that receive the contribution.

CHARITY: 11 in 11 - Happy Hearts Fund!

As we embark on a new year full of hopes and dreams for a better tomorrow, we'd like to share the accomplishments of 2011 that were made possible through your incredible support. Please enjoy our 2011 yearbook, highlighting the 10 schools and the library and arts center that were built in five countries this past year, reaching over 1,130 children!

Pelita Hati Kindergarten, Indonesia, 146 children "We are all so happy that we met Happy Hearts Fund. We are so grateful and we think they are wonderful people for being so kind to us and giving us this wonderful school. Thank you!" - Ms. Rosmini, head teacher   Al Munawar Kindergarten, Indonesia, 92 children "Our children are so happy they now have a wonderful new kindergarten. Our school is so much better than before, it is very wonderful. We are so thankful to Happy Hearts and their donors for caring about our children." - Ms. Ayi Ahmad, head teacher    Maria Auxiliadora Calderones Elementary, Peru, 71 children "We are really happy about the new school as now we have appropriate classrooms to teach our children after working in temporary modules for almost four years; the new classrooms were built in a very efficient way and the structure is earthquake resistant. We are also very grateful (to the JV) as the children were involved in educational activities such as: art, photography, reading programs, etc." - Ms. Doria Cloria Rosas, head teacher   Al Mutaquin Kindergarten, Indonesia, 73 children "We would like to say a HUGE thank you to our donors who have been so kind and helped us with our school. Our children were really suffering for a long time after they lost their old school and now they are able to study again in this fabulous new facility. All the teachers, parents & children pray for you all and will be forever grateful." - Ms. Sahidin, head teacher     Margarita Maza de Juarez Elementary, Mexico, 68 children "In this day the dream parents, students, teachers and the whole community share in general becomes true, because thanks to this infrastructure, education will be the center that will give life to this community. The teachings that will take place here will be of great value to our students that from now on will receive their education in a better environment, teachers will have better facilities to develop their activities and the school will show a new and modern face to students that enroll for the first time. We give our most sincere gratitude to ING and Happy Hearts Fund for their perseverance, willingness, dedication and effort to relocate this school. But mostly for giving us happiness and hope in our hearts." - Ms. Margarita Maza de Juarez, school director *to see video footage from the opening of this school, visit our YouTube page!    ABA Jatimas Kindergarten, Indonesia, 65 children  "How can we express to you our gratitude for our wonderful kindergartens. Our children love their school and so do the parents. This new school has changed all of our lives forever. Thank you from us all." - Ms. Kusri Nurbani, head teacher     Wat Pattikaram Library and Arts Center, Thailand, 122 children "I really appreciate Happy Hearts Fund who supports this school with personnel tools and building. And now we have the library for our students to look for more knowledge and also a projector to help teachers to teach the kids in a better way. I sincerely Thank You." - Ms. Isabel Huamani, head teacher    Francisco Perez Anampa Elementary, Peru, 160 children The new school is very nice and some people even think it is a private school! After the earthquake we struggled in getting support form the government for the reconstruction of the school. Luckily for us Happy Hearts (JV) supported us and now we have a school that will resist eventual earthquakes. The children are happy and enjoy the new school and the computer lab." - Ms. Isabel Huamani, head teacher  L'Ecole Nouvelle Zoranje Kindergarten, Haiti, 101 children "The children and staff of Happy Hearts kindergarten in Ecole Nouvelle Zoranje smile even more then last year thanks to your generous support. These shining little eyes are evidence to their 'Happy Hearts' - their smile every morning is  inspiration and hope for us all, that it is possible to have a better tomorrow. Thank you!" - Inbal Timor, Prodev Haiti   Hikmatul Hayat Kindergarten, Indonesia, 140 children "Thank you so much for helping us, we loved meeting you and our children are now so happy with their new school. Happy Christmas to you in America." - Ms. Anjang Arif, head teacher   Al-Jami'ah Bina Mulia Kindergarten, Indonesia, 100 children "Thank you to all of you who have changed our lives. Our school is the heart of our community and all the parents and families are so happy. We can never say thank you enough for everything you have done for us." - Ms. Budi Prayitno, head teacher On behalf of the HHF team and the children, thank you for an amazing, life-changing year! HHF receives specific donations to underwrite all administrative and fundraising expenses, allowing all public donations to support our programs. HHF is extremely grateful to our corporate partners - Continental Airlines, DLA Piper, HP and ING - for their philanthropic commitment to help build a future for children affected by natural disasters. HHF is committed to help accomplish the UN's Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

CHARITY: The Little Lighthouse Foundation Holiday Toy Drive

Thank you for supporting the Little Lighthouse Foundation and  its Iconic Holiday Party and Toy Drive.   Guests who attended the celebration on December 21, 2011 enjoyed a night of flowing champagne, a bevy of specialty drinks from Botram rum and feasted on Stone Crabs from George Stone Crabs.  The party raised over $5,000.00 and well over 300 gifts for the children living at the Community Partnership for Homeless were donated.       Volunteers from the Little Lighthouse Foundation then delivered the gifts to the children at the on Friday, December 23rd. 

The Little Lighthouse Foundation appreciates your support as do all the children who benefitted from your generosity.   We hope you will continue to support the Little Lighthouse Foundation.   Founded in 2010, the Little Lighthouse Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-­-profit organization that rallies volunteers and conducts high-profile events to benefit children and their families throughout South Florida. Focusing on supporting families who face medical, educational, emotional and financial challenges, the Little Lighthouse Foundation's network of active young professionals contribute both time and financial contributions. These contributions benefit internal Little Lighthouse programs and a network of other noteworthy local charities.  The charity hosts a number of social events throughout the year and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in 2011 to help South Florida children and families in need.

Volunteers from the Little Lighthouse Foundation deliver holidays presents to the children at the Chapman house donated at its holiday party and toy drive. 

  

 

As if their smiles and thanks were not more than enough, the  children at Miami's Chapman Center were kind enough to give us this thank you card.
