MUSIC: Miami Rock Station 91.9 CALL FM.

Hurray for CALL FM! If you haven't tuned in be sure to check it out, 91.9 FM in Miami! Brad & Chad in the morning are hilarious and talk meaningful (food for thought) unlike the recently deceased 93.1 Miami Rock station with Bubba the Love Sponge (yuck-a the dud sponge). EVEN BETTER..... the CALL actually plays music in between talk in the morning unlike 105.9 Miami rock station with Paul & Young Ron (no morning music) who are becoming less popular with the growing competition and CALL FM fan base. The CALL gives us what we want to hear! Awesome ROCK MUSIC and as mention in previous blogs an occasional twist of funky funk HIP HOP ya don't stop... Ahhh it's soooo refreshing to turn on the radio in the morning and hear MUSIC on the way to work! Brad & Chad and of course our morning girl KELLY give fans just the right amount of talk/ humor, no talk overdose... a fair balance of talk and music in the morning for a pleasant commute to work or school! The CALL is a Christian radio station so there is no degrading filth or as I like to call it "mind pollution". Whether your a Christian or not, the MUSIC rocks! CALL FM is a must on your radio dial!

WRITINGS by Sarah B: Disintegrated Dream

Looking back on everything as i watched crimson fluid pour endlessly from my wound...it was the impatience that had led me to him...sour thoughts leaked through my mind....of decaying crows swarming over me, their brittle bones poking through their coal black feathers... attacking my eyes, which almost immediately after dulled to gray... i could see through to hell... a thousand souls scratching through my body looking to me as there savior... but I could not repent for them, just condemn...now tired and old i took the rusty brown shovel and dug deeper...deeper...deeper... until black dirt and ants covered my body and i began to turn to partially to dust...however not completely decomposed the angels grabbed me up from the grave propping me upright....black holes for eyes...cracked lips moaning...an old cackle... i drug myself to the bar... as the living stared vacantly at the large hole in my side which exposed my ribcage...I asked the bartender for one last drink...

ART / MUSIC: Art in the Park with Stokeswood

Friday nights Art in the Park was a hit as usual. (Art in the Park is every first Friday of every month @ Ponce Circle Park Two blocks south of Miracle Mile on Ponce de Leon in Coral Gables)

Art in the Park is a showcasing of musical performances, artwork by local artists (paintings, sculptures, crafts and other neat stuff). Art in the Park is often sponsored by different vendors; drink tent's are set up (beer, wine and hard liquor). There is always a huge turn out!

Awesome performance by Stokeswood! They rocked the stage and had the crowd going, jumping in the air, dancing singing and yelling aloud! Bravo Stokeswood for the great show! My first time seeing them LIVE...

"Stokeswood, please tell us where we can find you next!" ???

:: The Legend

Carassians

Adam Patterson: guitar, lead vox, synths
Mark Godwin: lead guitar, synths, vox, harmonica
Reed Irvine: bass, piano, organ, synths, vox
Jon Joiner: drums, synths, vox
Justin Mullinix: bass, vox

"Stokeswood's sound is full of sonically integrated electric and acoustic guitar, piano, organ, synth and percussion. Their songs are so layered and euphonious, you'll find yourself playing the music over and over just to catch all of the idiosyncrasies found within it" -The Silver Tongue.

"Stokeswood’s independent release, Carassia is like a sonic excursion between the lines of a poet’s story-telling prowess.  Thoughtful introspection on the human condition is amplified and challenged by the layered accents of electroacoustic guitars, pianos, synths, strings and drums. The soulful and captivating vocals of Adam Patterson carry each melody flawlessly through the rhythms and musical harmonies of each track. From start to finish, the album sparkles with intelligent musicality and impressive originality that sets Stokeswood apart from any other band out there right now."

WRITINGS by Sarah B: Crucify the Sinner

"Crucify the sinner"...whispered from his dry lips softly in to my ear...i felt his clutch tighten around my frail neck...his voice was cracked like an old violin...eyes bloodshot red which made them more beautiful than before...his voice was so soft though...the warmth of his breath whisked my hair gently into my ear and tickled a little...looking around at this broken old church, the fire had engulfed everything...as his hand gripped my neck tighter I wanted to collapse into his arms so he could take away with him...back to that deep hole in the ground...which grew from it small flowers butterflies and bees swarmed around...but i could only sit there crying and laughing at the same time like i was mad...the walls started to crumble but i still stayed paralyzed looking into his now pale eyes gazing right back into mine...his voice getting deeper and more cracked as he began to combust with smoke and fire blazing right next to me...I stood up and started to pray..."our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name...." there was no saving this soul though...his black suit and white collar turned to dust and all that was left was the decrypted burnt corpse of the once remarkable person... or so I thought until I learned he swam in a lake filled with secrets... claiming to be some "savior" , some "messiah"..."but you must remember only the body dies" echoed though the dreary cathedral...his last words.

WRITINGS by Sarah B: Just a Question

Everyday I open my eyes and thoughts pour in... like the crumbled flood gates of louisiana...we are what we are, poor fools in this sadistic game... what happens in the end though?... are we lead to "lead a good life" because we were molded in to believing in this hopelessness....When the end comes nobody matters... not that bald headed, grinning man you met at Starbucks, or the nice blonde haired woman who took your order at Denny's... All that goes is you and your mind... people, materials, money... none of that matters in the end... your put down hard and cold... then you end up six feet under somewhere, rotting... so I ask what is that thin line of moral that keeps us from complete and total chaos?.... why were we chosen to have a conscious when animals roam about in a free society?.... do some even have a conscious and if not why are they deemed "bad people"?... we are what we are... so when will we start making are OWN rules?

WRITINGS: Q & A with Dr. Carlos Wolf

Q: Help! My lips are shrinking! I am 64 years old woman and have found that in addition to growing wrinkles around my mouth my lips seem to be vanishing right before my eyes.  Here is my question.  If I decide to do something about my lips do I have to look like Angelina Jolie?  I live in a very conservative community and I don’t think it would not go over too well, besides that I don’t think my husband would approve. Please help.

A: You are not alone.  I find that lip rejuvenation is frequently something that is overlooked in “women of age (WOA)”.  I often see patients that come in to fill the lines around their mouth and the nasal-labial area, but rarely do they ask to do “something” about their lips.  More often than not, they are embarrassed to ask about lip enlargement and or modification.  I think that WOA conjure images of lips like Angelina Jolie and feel that lips like hers are not appropriate for someone their age.  So here’s my take, lip rejuvenation is essential for WOA.  I will often introduce this concept when I have “a little extra” filler and suggest that we put it in their lips so we won’t waste it. By doing this, my patients don’t feel guilty (but  feel sexier) that they brought up the suggestion. Following this introduction they ask me to put in “just a little more” with each successive visit.  The fillers I use include Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm.  Pain is something that all patients fear and they have heard of patients having to get injections of anesthesia around their mouth to prevent this. I think these injections hurt more than the actual fillers does, so I do not use them unless a patient is absolutely adamant about using them.  With the introduction of fillers that have lidocaine in them and the use of a topical anesthetic cream prior to the injection, pain should not be a factor keeping you from using fillers. Very often I see my patients coming back to my office dressed differently, strutting their stuff after just one session of lip rejuvenation.

POEM: An Old Poem

Once upon a day,
in the middle of the night,
two dead boys got up to fight,
back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other,
A deaf policeman heard the noise,
and came and killed the two dead boys....

WRITINGS by Sarah B: Crocodile Tears

She sits high on her bar stool...Mascara running...teeth yellow and tarnished hiding beneath a mouth full of red smudged lipstick...resembling that of a circus clown who performed one too many shows...once she was a cheerleader...she was captain of the team...coach thought she looked just so fucking hot in that tight lil uniform...stretching and bending, screaming out "Go, Southridge Sharks, Go!"... Until he turned her out in the locker and the test said positive....Little miss Valerie Lee Vinton was born one month shy of the full term...her beautiful blues and blonde wispy strands reminded her of him every day, and as she grew so did the hatred...she couldn't help her maternal angst...so it was only a few hours earlier she stuffed her in a rickety wicker basket with a one-eyed teddy bear with a note in front of precinct 956 on the corner of Ponce and Delgado....the building and street were quiet, except for the few drunken homeless snoring, and sprawled out along the gum-stained sidewalk... as she downed more and more kettle one , the thoughts of Valerie surfaced like a cruel dark shadow...her face...her beautiful blue eyes...she cracked a schizo smile and downed her last, grabbing her faux zebra skin purse and headed for the door...as she turned the corner from the small Pub she suddenly felt a tight yank on her skinny, bruised forearm..."YOU DAT WOMAN!"...."DAT WOMAN DAT DROPPED DAT BABY TO DA COPS"...she found herself choking her tongue....she could barely breathe....lungs just wouldn't work, so she collapsed...She woke up about one hour later...the basket back beside her again with little miss sunshine inside...who was the anonymous angel who had granted her a second chance, saving her from a life of being sent to several dirty orphanages?...."I guess I just can't shake you, kid".....

MUSIC: Indifference

"Indifference"

i will light the match this mornin', so i won't be alone
watch as she lies silent, for soon light will be gone
i will stand arms outstretched, pretend i'm free to roam
i will make my way, through, one more day in hell...
how much difference does it make
how much difference does it make...
i will hold the candle till it burns up my arm
i'll keep takin' punches until their will grows tired
i will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind
hey i won't change direction, and i won't change my mind
how much difference does it make
how much difference does it make..
how much difference...
i'll swallow poison, until i grow immune
i will scream my lungs out till it fills this room
how much difference
how much difference
how much difference does it make
how much difference does it make...
